School Based Dental Sealant Program
A licensed Dentist and Dental Hygienist from the Florida Department of Health provide the following services at each school to children in PreK – 12th grade with parental permission:
- FREE Dental Screening
- Education on how to properly brush his/her teeth
- Dental sealants if needed ***
- Fluoride treatment***
- Prophylaxis***
- Referrals for follow up care if needed
Sealants are protective coatings that help prevent cavities on healthy back teeth.
***These services are provided to Medicaid eligible students only unless grant funding is available.
