The School Health Program provides nursing services to protect and promote the health of 3,300 students in Holmes District Schools. The program encourages heathly behaviors and services from physicians, dentists, and community health agencies.
A school nurse provides screenings for vision, hearing, height, weight, BMI, and scoliosis, as well as immunization follow-up. Nurses serve as a resource to school personnel and present a variety of health information on a wide variety of topics.
Exemption from required immunizations
Form DH 681 is issued if immunizations are in conflict with the religious tenets and practices of the child’s parent or guardian.
